A Brazilian business heritage, FURNAS chooses Digicon to manage its access controls.

Brazilian power generator chooses Digicon’s dGate and dFlow access controls.

Founded 1957, FURNAS is a Brazilian company, a subsidiary of Eletrobrás, linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy and active in the power generation and transmission segment.

Its system comprises 21 hydroelectric power plants and 2 thermoelectric plants, owned or in partnership with the private sector, more than 29,000 km of transmission lines and 75 substations. The company has facilities in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Paraná, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Tocantins, Rondônia, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Ceará, Bahia and in the Federal District. To control the access of employees, suppliers and customers in this giant, FURNAS chose Digicon’s access management solutions. Through the business partner NSP Sistemas Technology, dFlow, dGate, dTower and dToten access controllers were installed with MIFARE and Qrcode readers using the dPrint QR code printing solution. In addition, MCA Acesso devices were installed with MIFARE readers controlling several doors.

The project included the implementation of three dFlow passages that replaced 08 conventional turnstiles, providing greater flow, comfort and ergonomics in rush hours.

The solution provided automation on the temporary credential’s process through the dPrint device, with Qrcode technology.

The new equipments provided more agility, economy and security for a giant like FURNAS, who relied on Digicon’s integrated and intelligent solutions.
